This Volunteer spot will have 2 phases.

Phase 1 (Very start of race):
Send everyone straight down Vigo from the start (bridge) towards 5th St.

Phase 2 (half way through race):
Runners will be coming from 1st street and through Patrick Henry Drive. Send runners across down 2nd street towards Willow.

6th & Willow High Priority

This station will have 2 phases.

Phase 1: (this phase will be at the beginning of the race)
- Runners will be coming from 5th St on Willow St. Send runners straight through 6th St on Willow going towards 10th St. Guide runners to stay on the left side of the road.

Phase 2: (this phase will be towards the end of the race)
Runners will be coming towards you from South 6th (from the soccer fields) and will be on the left side of the road. Have the runners go straight on 6th Street going towards Main Street. Keep runners on the left side/sidewalk of the road.

Control traffic if/when necessary. You may need to stop traffic. However you should have a first responder present so collaborate race directions with them.

Runners will be coming from 10th street on Main Street. Keep runners going straight on Main going towards 2nd St and guide them to stay on the left side of the road.

Phase 2 (end of race):
Runners will be coming from willow street on 6th. Have runners turn LEFT onto Main Street going towards 2nd Street.

Runners will be coming from Main Street on 2nd Street. Have runners continue going straight going towards VU campus and guide them to stay on the left side of the road.

Details

Runners will be coming from Main Street on 2nd Street.

Signal and have the 5K runners turn LEFT onto Harrison going towards the river. These runners will be wearing GREEN bibs.

Keep the 10k runners & Half Marathon runners going STRAIGHT on 2nd Street going north towards Cutters. Half runners will have BLUE bibs, 10K runners will be wearing ORANGE bibs.

Control traffic if/when necessary.

Be very vocal and use signage to signal turns for all groups of runners. 5k turns; all others stay straight. This can be a confusing intersection so take control and ensure all runners go where they are supposed to. Runners may have headphones and show confusion so be involved and ensure proper direction and guidance!

2nd & Niblack High Priority

Runners will be coming from VU campus on 2nd Street. Have runners turn LEFT and guide them up on the Levy hill trail. If runners have wheels (baby carriers, bikes, etc.), they may stay on the road (Niblack) going towards the river.

Chicago & Oliphant (Levy Exit) High Priority

Runners will be coming from the top of the levy. They will be coming out on the exit on the corner of Chicago & Oliphant.. Sit at the bottom of the exit and guide runners from the exit and direct them towards Oliphant so that they can turn left onto Oliphant

Details

Runners will becoming from the exit of the Levy. The volunteers at the exit will be guiding them towards you on Oliphant. Have runners turn LEFT on Oliphant headed back towards VU Campus/Kimmel Park. Guide runners to stay on the left side of the road.

There may also be some participants on wheels (bikes, baby carriers, etc.) that couldn't access the levy hill so keep an eye for those stragglers as well

"This Spot will have 2 Phases!

Phase 1: (beginning half of race)
Runners will be coming from VU on 1st street. At this intersection, Half Marathon runners (BLUE bibs) will need to continue going STRAIGHT on 1st street going towards Main Street; But 5k (GREEN bibs) & 10K (ORANGE bibs) runners will need to turn RIGHT going into the upper river walk to head towards the finish line.
-This volunteer spot is very crucial to ensure runners are going where they need to go and WILL need directed and notified. Please be vocal, use signage and runners know where they are supposed to go. Runners may have music so please your best to ensure they are aware of direction.

Phase 2: (End of the race) This will be lead by a fast half marathon runner and/or bike lead. These racers will be coming from Main Street and should be on the far side of the road. Direct runners into the entrance of the Upper River walk, headed towards the finish line.

** Be cautious, there may be a small chance that some fast marathon racers who are headed toward the finish line may intersect with slow marathon racers who are headed toward main street.

Runners will be coming from VU campus on 1st Street. Keep runners going straight towards Main Street and direct them to stay on the right side of the road!

Phase 2 (end of race):
Runners will be coming from Main St on 1st. Keep them on their right side of road and keep them headed toward the finish at the entrance of the river walk.

Runners will be coming from 6th St on Main St. Have these racers turn right on 1st Street and have them stay on their right side of road.

Be directive and vocal. This is a crucial volunteer position.
