LAR’s Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon

Sat December 4, 2021 Lake Charles, LA 70605 US Directions

Volunteers High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Volunteers will mostly be needed on the race course to help direct runners in the correct direction so they don't get lost along the way. You will have a bright safety vest to wear for your safety by making you visible to traffic and to help runners discern who to seek directions from. You will be assigned a spot along the course prior to race day.

Other Tasks

Hydration Station High Priority

Minimum met, 1 volunteer spot remaining.

Hydration Stations will help to provide runners with water, Gatorade, and any other items the Hydration Station sponsor would like to offer. You should have a table, small cups, ice, 2-4 water coolers (number coolers will depend on where you are assigned along the course and how many times runners will pass by your water stop), and volunteers to help pass out cups. We will provide you with Gatorade powder mix so that all Hydration Stations will be providing the same hydration options. The Gatorade powder will be available for pickup at Graywood Park (the start/finish area) at the LAR tent. (We may have items for use such as water coolers if needed, but we can't guarantee their availability.)
Hydration Station sponsors are asked to email their company logo to task coordinator, Tonya McKnight so that we can advertise your business on our Swamp Stomp race t-shirts.
We will assign you a spot along the course prior to the race. There will not be an age limit for volunteers as kids are so much fun to have out there at the Hydration Stations, but we do ask that they are closely monitored for their safety.
COVID precautions: We ask that volunteers follow state guidelines regarding masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, etc. We doubt masks will be mandatory as this is an outside event. We want to be sure we are doing our part in keeping all of our runners safe as possible and prevent the spread of COVID.
