Details

Course rangers are biking the course with the purpose of monitoring runners and communicating to race officials with any important information they spot. Course rangers must have access to a cell phone. Volunteers for this area should expect to bike 15-35 miles for the day, depending on location assignment and choice.

Lead cyclists

Details

The early lead cyclists will guide the walking group that starts two hours before the rest of the entrants, helping stop traffic if necessary. After reaching the half marathon turnaround point, the cyclists will leave the walking group and wait for the lead male and female runners in the half marathon, then guide those runners back to the finish line.

Babygirl Foundation

Details

Manage runner, spectator and vehicular traffic at a very congested section of the race course on Rt 88 at Skillins. There are #1 and #3 relay exchanges, a live band, a water station, portajohns, hundreds of runners and hundreds of spectators.

Traffic control volunteers will support the unimpeded passage of marathoners and half marathoners when Rt 88 is closed and later when it is reopened.

Traffic control volunteers will control relay runners and spectators crossing the street and cars driving through. Runners will have right of way.

Particular attention will be required when the lead cars with the first place runner of the half marathon comes through and later when the lead cars with the first place marathoner comes through.

At the time the first place marathoner comes through there are many half marathon walkers in groups blocking traffic. They will be asked to break up and stay in the breakdown lane so the lead cars with the first place marathoner can pass through safely without slowing down.
