Checkpoint volunteers will be stationed along the course for the purpose of monitoring the progress of the lead runners. The job entails writing down bib numbers for the top men, women and relay teams as they pass your checkpoint, then reporting that information back to race officials at the finish line. The early lead cyclists will guide the walking group that starts two hours before the rest of the entrants, helping stop traffic if necessary. After reaching the half marathon turnaround point, the cyclists will leave the walking group and wait for the lead male and female runners in the half marathon, then guide those runners back to the finish line.

Direct runners and others parking in the garage to exit the garage through an interior overpass that crosses Bedford St so that they will proceed to the starting line on the west side sidewalk only and cross Forest Avenue to the starting line on the west crosswalk only. This will help the flow of traffic headed to the garage without pedestrians interfering with traffic. Volunteers will also enforce the closure of the east sidewalk on Bedford St and the east crosswalk on Forest Ave.

About 7:45 am after the race has started, you will return to Pedro Field and provide water and Gatorade to runners who just finished.
