Details

Volunteers will be checking in runners, giving them their race bib and race packet. Instructions will be provided when you check in at The Knickerbocker. Friday's Packet Pickup will be in the Beer Garden - so if you're over 21, you can have a beer while you volunteer! Saturday's Packet Pickup will be in the parking lot at the rear of The Knickerbocker. Support will be provided by Classic Race Management.

All volunteers will receive a race shirt and lanyard. Friday we will provide one beer (if over 21) and some appetizers; Saturday volunteers will receive one beer and brunch in the Beer Garden.

Details

Will assist participants the day of the race and guide them where they need to go. Will also assist in any traffic control that is needed and guide any car to the appropriate detours during the race.

Will also assist in cleaning up any waste that is left on the race course (signs, cups, etc) and bring that to the Knickerbocker for proper disposal.

Support will be provided by officers from Grand Rapids Police Department.

All volunteers will receive a race shirt, lanyard, instructions & course map, and water. Following your shift, join us for brunch and a beer (if over 21) in the Beer Garden.

Aid Station Attendant

Details

When you arrive at the Aid Station, fill paper cups with water from water jugs. Space cups of water on the table so runners may grab them as they go by. When runners approach, hold cups of water out on your flat palm for runners to grab as they go by. After the last runner has passed you, a bike "sweeper" will follow. Once the sweeper has passed you, please collect the empty cups from the ground in your area and put them in the trash bags. Tie up the trash bags and leave them at the Aid Station.

All volunteers will receive a race shirt, lanyard, instructions & course map, and water. Following your shift, join us for brunch and a beer (if over 21) in the Beer Garden.

Will assist on race day for start / finish line area set up and tear down. Will work on any logistical needs in this area.

Will assist participants in guiding them to the start / finish area and then help when they finish and guide them where to go. Will need to have knowledge of the race course (maps will be provided).

You will be stationed at the back entrance of The Knickerbocker, allowing staff and credentialed volunteers in and out, and directing runners to enter at the front doors of The Knickerbocker.
