Medical & Sag High Priority

Medical & Sag
Overview
The HHM medical and sag volunteer is at the event to support runners. During the event runners may need minor medical care or a ride to the finish which can be provided by the volunteer. Medical and sag is not onsite to cover catastrophic or life threatening injuries. In cases of major emergency 911 will be contacted. Qualified medical and sag volunteers should be a doctor, nurse, PA, EMT, firefighter or other applicable first responder.
Duties
Administer minor first aid, hydration, nutrition and ice packs to runners on the course
Contact 911 for runners facing life threatening injuries
Be in contact with the race director, volunteer coordinator and staff about runner needs
Pick up runners on the course unable to complete the race and drive them to safety

Photographer High Priority

Details

Holland Haven Marathon publishes free photos of the race for runners. Volunteer photographers are used to allow runners access to their race day memories for free.
Photographers are stationed at start lines, finish line and throughout the race courses.
Various times and shift lengths are available.

1st Half Course Clean Up High Priority

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Start at the full marathon starting line at Rosy Mound Elementary school. Drive the course south and clean up as the last runners complete each mile. Pick up any aid station supplies, trash and all mile marker signs. Pass off HHM van to second half clean up at Camp Geneva.

2nd Half Course Clean Up High Priority

Details

Start at the half marathon starting line at Camp Geneva. Get the HHM van from the first half clean up driver. Drive the course south and clean up as the last runners complete each mile. Pick up any aid station supplies, trash and all mile marker signs. All the way to finish line at CrossFit Holland.

Help set up and serve food and snacks for runners to have as they are finishing the race.
Volunteers set up the food station with food on tables before the race and replenish throughout the entire day. Volunteers serve as hosts during the race, keeping the food area clean and stocked.

Set up and maintain Awards table
- Pass out age group awards to winning runners
- Pass out overall distance awards to winning runners
- Trifecta medals & Double Dutch Challenge Medals
- Facilitate t-shirt exchange of race shirts
