Ocean Rescue Lifeguards High Priority

Details

Certified Ocean Rescue Lifeguards to provide services prior and during the event. Lifeguards will be positioned in the water equipped with a surfboard or stand-up paddleboard for in-water rescue.

Either Johnny Mercers or Crystal Pier depending on the direction of the current.

Lifeguards

At least 5 more volunteers needed.

Details

Certified Lifeguards to provide services prior and during the event. Lifeguards will be positioned on the beach with buoys for in-water rescue.

Boat Volunteers High Priority

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 3 more volunteers needed.

Details

We need 3 boats to help set up buoys and monitor the course before and during the event.

Oceanside, between Johnny Mercers and Crystal Piers

Resources Needed

Boat - 1+

Beach Support

At least 5 more volunteers needed.

Details

Watch swimmers from the beach to serve as an extra set of eyes for the lifeguards. Collect timing chips from any swimmers who exit the water early.

Packet Pick Up Medium Priority

At least 3 more volunteers needed.

Details

Help distribute bib numbers and t-shirts on Friday before the race. This will involve handling people and their race packets.

Parking

Assist athletes and volunteers with parking on race morning.

Hand refreshments to athletes as they finish the race.

Clean Up Crew

Details

After the race is completed, you will help clean up the grounds.
