Volunteer Opportunities

Event Greeters

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

7:00 AM - 8:45 am
Event greeters will be stationed near the parking areas and venue entry to provide instructions to guests for where to go once they have parked.

Race Set Up

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

6:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Help with set up of event.

Location

New Garden Flying Field. Venue area will be near the runway behind the main office/hangar.

6:45 am - 10:00 am
Assist in registration tent - new registrations, distribute bibs, distribute t-shirts, answer questions, direct participants, etc. Check in volunteers and direct them to their volunteer assignment.

Course Marshal

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 10 more volunteers needed.

Details

7:45 - 10:00 AM
Responsible for directing event participants along the route, as well as ensuring safety of runners from any traffic when participants are still on the course.

Location

Locations will be assigned along the 5K course. There will be a mandatory briefing promptly at 8:00 a.m. near the Volunteer Registration Tent.

First Aid Station

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

7:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Assist in first aid tent as needed throughout the event with minor first aid needs (band aids, water, etc). For emergencies, an EMT will be on site.

First Aid tent near finish line.

Water Station Helpers

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 10 more volunteers needed.

Details

7:30 am - 10:30 am
Fill water cups and distribute to participants as they pass the Water Station area. Clean up water station area and race course in the vicinity after participants pass through (dropped cups on course).

Please check in at the Registration Tent upon arrival for directions to, and about, the water station.

Finish Line Refreshments

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 6 more volunteers needed.

7:45 AM - 10:30 AM
Provide participants with post race refreshments. Upon arrival, you will assist in setting up the post race refreshments for participants.

Finish Line Area (specific location/details provided upon arrival).

Turkey Hill Helping Hands

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 5 more volunteers needed.

Our finishers are greeted at the end of the finish line by one of their favorite post run treats - Turkey Hill ice cream and chocolate milk. This is a crowd favorite...and the crowd definitely gets heavy by the Turkey Hill tent. We are in need of volunteers to help with crowd control, keeping people moving through the line and on their way, and handing out chocolate milk and ice cream.

Gratitude Station

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 3 more volunteers needed.

7:30-10:30 am
The program participants will have the opportunity to write a thank you note to their coaches at the Gratitude Station. Blank notes and markers will be available at the booth. Volunteers will provide supervision, help the kids with ideas if needed, and organize the letters when the children are finished. Completed letters will be given to an event staff member at the end of the morning.
