Pre-Race Packet Pick Up

Details

Set Up Packet Pick Up tables and assist participants as they come to pick up their race packets (bib numbers, t-shirts, goodie bags). Also, assist anyone who registers for the race. Two volunteers for Divine Saviour and One/Two for Fleet Feet (dependent upon number of registrants requesting pick up at this location).

Set Up Race Course

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Responsible for setting out turn signs and making chalk turn arrow markings on the roadways along the race route, pre-race. Best if one volunteer drives and another puts out signs. Depending on weather, can be done night prior to race or early race morning.

Time Keeper Assistant

Assist race Time Keeper in setting up for race and keeping track of participants as they cross the Finish Line.

Set up the Finish Line Food and Beverage tables for the athletes prior to race. Distribute food and beverages to athletes as they complete the course.

Intersection/Course Turn Monitor

Responsible for monitoring intersections, stopping vehicles, making sure the runners stay on course, and of course cheering the participants along!

Mile Split Timer

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Start your stopwatch at the race start, relocate to your mile marker, and not block the sign from the view of the athletes. Call out times loudly and clearly for each runner or group that goes by.

Mile 1 Marker: Halfway down Hillside Drive, alongside church

Mile 2 Marker: Just after the right turn onto Trinity Street

Mile 3 Marker: After the final turn onto Herndon Ave.

Clean Up

Help clean up along race course (collect turn signs, make sure trash is picked up) and at the finish line at the completion of the event.
