Directing runners and keeping them safe along the route are the key responsibilities. Duties include a proper understanding of the course, guiding race participants along the course, and watching out for possible participant issues and traffic. Being confident and being loud (if necessary) are pluses.

You also are a key player in keeping the excitement and momentum going on course. Feel free to act crazy, scream, cheer, laugh — anything to bring out a smile on our runners faces!

MUST WEAR A SAFETY VEST (provided by RRRC at check-in)! Standing for long periods of time is required.

This assignment is outdoors. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day & bring your own hydration, snacks and sun screen.

Water Stop #1

Located at Shelter #3 which is also the start/finish and race day registration site. This is a cupless water station. You will be responsible for keeping the water coolers filled for runners to self-serve.

You also are a key player in cheering on and putting a smile on our runners faces!

This event is outdoors and standing for long periods of time and staying for the duration of the event is required. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day.

Children under the age of 10 and pets are not permitted for this position.

Truck Assistant

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

You are one of the first volunteers to report and one of the last to leave. You assist the driver of the RRRC truck in setting up and taking down the event, from the start/finish line to the cones and water stations along the course.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Walking is required. This assignment is outdoors. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day.

Parking Lot Attendant

Post-Race Refreshments

Duties include setting up/breaking down the post-race food station, preparing food items (if needed), distributing food to event participants upon completion of the race, and making sure that spectators are not partaking in the post race food.

Work at the direction of the race director and timer. Assist with timing (manual and/or digital) and set-up/break-down of finish line equipment. Some lifting is required.

Assignments may include Course Marshal, Water Station, Finish Line, Registration, or general set-up or breakdown.

All assignments are outdoors. You need to be prepared for the weather on race day. This position is not appropriate for a volunteer with small children or pets, who need supervision.

Once you are able to check in at registration, you’ll be directed to a specific assignment that needs your attention.

You may receive an email a few days in advance of the event with additional assignment details.

Provide services for walk-up registration, bib number assignment/distribution, and T-shirt pick-up. Positive attitudes a MUST. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Don't forget to sign-in on the volunteer check-in sheet!

Previous experience and knowledge of the registration equipment set-up and overall operation is suggested and requested. There will be a 'registration guru' will be on hand to assist in setting up tablets & other pertinent equipment for walk up registration. There are laminated detailed instructions with the equipment as well. If you have not used this equipment previously, we request that you let the volunteer coordinator know upon registration for this position.

This assignment is indoors.

Race numbers & shirts can be picked up by another runner, only if they supply a copy of a photo id.

Your attendance is required for the duration of this task. Small children and animals requiring adult supervision are not permitted for this task.
