We are in the World's top fastest courses! https://www.halfmarathons.net/fastest-marathons/
Jack & Jill's Downhill Marathon is a fast, gentle downhill course on one of Washington's most scenic trails. North Bend, WA, is located just 31 miles east of Seattle. After you pass through the Snoqualmie Tunnel, you can enjoy the next 23 miles down a gradual 2000-foot net drop down the Cascade to Palouse Trail on a hard-packed, shaded dirt/gravel road. "YES," you can use your finish time to qualify for Boston or chalk up a new PR. Either way, this 26.2-mile journey is breathtakingly beautiful and sure to be a favorite.
"The finish line was awesome! They announce your name and let you know if you qualified for Boston. The crowd was amazing at the finish. And yes, I rang that PR bell with Pride! Would I run this marathon again? Absolutely!" - Annie
"This was an incredibly well organized race and package pickup"
"I was super impressed with how you all organized this race. The aid stations were so well stocked and in creative locations." - Marilee
"Best finish line ever!" - Nicole
"Thanks for another fun event! See you again soon." - Marilee
🚐 SHUTTLE BUS INFO
Marathon: No shuttle to the start. You are responsible for your own transportation.
Half Marathon: Shuttle buses will take runners to the trailhead. From there, it’s a scenic 1-mile walk to the start.
No parking at the half marathon start, trailhead, or finish line.
Return shuttles are provided to take all runners back to their original parking locations after the race.
⏱️ Rolling Start
Start is staggered by pace groups with ~1 minute between waves.
All runners will be on course within a few minutes.
Line up according to pace to reduce congestion—faster runners should not have to weave around.
Half Marathoners: Don’t be late! A late start means walking uphill while others are racing downhill. Not fun.
👟 Shoes & Tunnel Gear
Road shoes are perfect. Trail shoes are not necessary.
Some runners use gaiters to prevent kicking up rocks, but that’s personal preference.
Marathon runners MUST carry a light for the tunnel.
Use the tear tag on your bib to mark your light and drop it in the bucket at the tunnel exit.
💧 Aid Stations
Located every ~2.5 miles.
Stocked with water, Gatorade, and GU gels at select stations.
🚫 Bib Rules
Do NOT run with someone else’s bib. This creates safety, emergency contact, and result issues.
We take this seriously—please respect the race, your fellow runners, and our volunteers.
