Course Profiles and Maps
Marathon Course Profile
1,400 feet of total gentle downhill — NO Boston Qualifier time penalty!
The course begins at Hyak with a flat 10-mile out-and-back, giving runners the chance to settle into rhythm along the scenic lakeside before the downhill begins. This section allows athletes to lock in pace and spread out naturally prior to entering the tunnel.
Runners then pass through the 2.4-mile tunnel, a unique and iconic feature of the course. GPS signals may be unreliable inside the tunnel, so establishing pace beforehand is strongly recommended.
After the tunnel, the course transitions into a smooth, consistent downhill, ideal for maintaining momentum all the way to the finish.
✔ USATF certified
✔ Boston Qualifier–friendly profile
✔ Designed for controlled speed and strong finishes
Half Marathon Course Profile and Map
The Half Marathon begins at the Hyak Trailhead in Palouse to Cascades State Park and enters the iconic Snoqualmie Tunnel within the first half mile of the race. Runners pass through the 2.4-mile tunnel, emerging into the heart of the Cascade Mountains.
Once out of the tunnel, the course transitions into a smooth, sustained net downhill of approximately 800 feet, allowing runners to settle into a strong, controlled rhythm. Athletes glide across historic railroad trestles, past cascading waterfalls, and through expansive mountain scenery as the course gently descends toward the finish.
✔ USATF certified
✔ Net downhill profile
✔ Scenic, fast, and rhythm-friendly
