Each year on the first Sunday in August, cyclists have the extraordinary opportunity to ride the iconic Hurricane Ridge road when it is closed to all motor vehicles. Starting the round-trip ride at sea level from the Port Angeles City Pier, cyclists ascend through the Olympic National Park, past old growth fir, distant glaciers, and Alpine Meadows, to the stunning viewpoints of Hurricane Ridge. 

Ride the Hurricane Registration Options

1. Ride the Hurricane – Standard Registration
This registration option grants you access to the thrilling, car-free climb up Hurricane Ridge, one of the most scenic cycling routes in the Pacific Northwest. Your registration includes ride entry, seven aid and hydration stations with protein bars, fruit, and a special treat at each stop (including our famous Ride the Hurricane truffles). Your entry also includes the After Party on the Pier, with a taco bar, craft beer on draft, and other refreshments. Whether you're a seasoned climber or taking on the challenge for the first time, Ride the Hurricane offers an unforgettable cycling experience through the stunning Olympic National Park.

• Early Registration - $110This non-refundable rate is the most affordable, and is best for cyclists who have firm plans. Lock in the best deal! Be among the first to register and save big. Only 250 available
• Standard Registration – $145 This registration is best for participants who want flexibility in their plans without having to risk ending up on the waiting list. There are a limited number of these slots so don't wait to register. Fully refundable until June 1, 2025. Only 300 spots available
• Last Chance Entry – $175 The final call! Avoid the waiting list and grab one of the last 200 spots before registration sells out. 

2. Ride the Hurricane – National Park Supporter
Take your ride to the next level by becoming a National Park Rider! All the benefits of the standard registration but it also allows you to make a meaningful impact by fundraising for the National Parks Foundation. Now more than ever our National Parks need our support to continue providing extraordinary outdoor experiences for all. National Park Supporters receive a 2025 ride jersey, special recognition on our website and at the After Party, a unique ride bib,  and the opportunity to make a difference while conquering the climb to Hurricane Ridge.
