Dear HHH Riders,
The "Safer-at-Home" order for Wisconsin was recently extended through May 26, 2020 by Governor Tony Evers. Given the uncertainty surrounding the phased reopening of businesses, community gatherings, etc., we regret to inform you that, after careful consideration of our cyclist’s safety and the health of our community, volunteers, spectators, and event staff, we will not be holding the Horribly Hilly Hundreds (HHH) event on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Due to unknown factors associated with the COVID-19 virus, the HHH will NOT be rescheduled for a future date in 2020.
As such, 2020 HHH riders will be given the options to donate their full race entry to FBMSP , split their race entry and donate half of their race entry to FBMSP or receive a partial refund of their race entry. If you choose to donate your entry, full or half, you will by-pass the 2021 lottery selection. Your donation benefits our park projects, as well as future HHH events. Please make your selection below by simply clicking on your choice. You do not have to take any further steps at this time. To confirm that your selection was recorded, you may login to your RunSignup account. Participants will have until May 22, 2020 at 11:59pm to make their decision. Once this window closes, then refunds will be issued. You can expect these refunds by June 8, 2020. Please give us and your credit card company time to get all of these processed. For those donating their $250 entry, we will issue you a tax donation letter.
If no response is received by the May 22, 2020 at 11:59pm deadline, your entire registration fee will become a donation to the Friends of Blue Mound State Park (FBMSP) (we are grateful!), and will include a by-pass of the lottery for 2021 entry.
All merchandise orders will be refunded 100%. You can expect to see this refund after the 2 week window closes alongside the Registration Options. Please give both us and your credit card companies time to process all of these refunds.
We appreciate the continued support of participants, volunteers, spectators, and event staff for HHH, the flagship fundraising event hosted by Friends of Blue Mound State Park. All proceeds from this annual event benefit year round programming and projects at Blue Mound State Park, a gem of a park! We look forward to seeing you in the park soon and back next June for the 2021 Horribly Hilly Hundreds.
Stay safe, be healthy,
Willi, Gretchen, Gail, Mark, Diane, Karl, Paul, Tom, Walt, Greg, Justin
The Friends of Blue Mound State Park Board of Directors
Don't want to take a chance? If you want to guarantee your spot in this year's ride, you can register for the Friends of The Park option. All proceeds will go directly to Friends of Blue Mound State Park (FBMSP), which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Recently the FBMSP has provided all or significant funding for the new pool, mt bike trail improvements, trail signage, campsite upgrades, solar panels, winter trail grooming equipment, and other park needs. Future funds will help continue Mt Bike trail improvements, group campsite development and repairs from last summer's heavy rains. The riders of the HHH deserve a huge thank you for their support of the event and its beneficiaries.

Three routes, two county tours, one result: a painfully fun, must-do biking experience destined to find its way onto your June calendar for years to come.
2020 marks the 18th anniversary of the Horribly Hilly Hundreds. Once voted the "Sufferfest of the Year" by Madison weekly newspaper Isthmus, "The Toughest One-Day Challenge Ride in the Midwest" is not to be missed by serious riders anywhere.
Since 2003, Horribly Hilly participants have enjoyed a day of riding that results in an awe-inspiring accumulation of 10,000 feet of elevation gain in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Growing in popularity each year, the Horribly Hilly registration has moved to an annual lottery system to accommodate the swelling number of interested riders. A second and third route option beyond the original course were added in 2005 and 2011. How hard do you want to push it? Choose between the 100K, 150K, and 200K routes. The day is capped with a meal featuring quality local food and beer.
Approximately 1,200 riders test their mettle on southwestern Wisconsin's scenic byways each year in the Horribly Hilly. Join the ranks of an inspired community of riders for the premier cycling event in the Badger State and beyond.
