Description

Thank you for being interested in Sprint for Spina Bifida Above and Beyond on Saturday, Aug 10th, 2019. We are excited to offer a great location, outstanding raffle items, awards, the kids dash, and refreshments. 

DETAILS and DEADLINES:

  • Early bird registration rates through midnight July 22 includes special event shirt. After July 22, rates increase by $5.00 for all events.

  • Registrations after July 22 are not guaranteed shirt sizes and shirts will be white with SBWIS Logo.

  • NEW in 2019 - register before July 22 for the event "Volunteer Set Up" from 6:00am to 8:00am and attend Sprint for FREE. Volunteers for set up must be 16 years and older, capable of lifting heavy tables, setting up tents, moving boxes, etc.. You will be finished in time to participate. This option is available to 10 people only. You will receive an email from SBWIS to confirm your commitment and the free event (5K and/or walk) you wish to join.

  • When you register, you will be asked to create/sign in to your account. Complete your event registration, and then add others. During registration, you will be given the option to "create a VIP Fundraiser".  Creating a VIP fundraiser allows you to customize your fundraiser by uploading a photo, and creating a unique link to share with family and friends. Share the link and others can "join". When naming your VIP fundraiser, be aware that the image/name/website is public. SBWIS appreciates the support and dedication from our families.

  • VIP Fundraisers created prior to midnight July 22, and raising $50 or more, will be listed on the back of our event shirts.

  • You can also create a team honoring a person with SB. This is a great way to gather your family and friends to join you at our event. Have them "join" your team! 

  • Online registration ends midnight August 5th.

  • Online donation pages will remain active until August 11th. 

  • Bag pick-up on Friday, Aug 9th from noon to 6:00pm at the SBWIS office is strongly encouraged. Bags for pre-registered participants will also be available for pick-up at the event starting at 7:00am.

  • Day of registration on August 10th is by cash or check only and shirts will be distributed while supplies last.

*Volunteers will direct you for parking. Enter from 116th St and Rogers Street. 

7:00am to 8:15am Race day registration (LOOK FOR PINK TABLE CLOTHS, CASH OR CHECK ONLY) and race bag pick up if already registered

8:15am Announcements and welcome for 5K timed events

8:30am 5K timed wheelchairs / race chairs depart  

8:40am 5K times runners depart

5K timed event course closes at 9:15am

9:15am Awards announced. Medals awarded to male/female in age divisions

Water and bathrooms are available once along the route and at the finish. Enjoy the end of the race refreshments provided.

5K participants are welcome to join the walk event for no extra charge -- no need to register online for both the 5K and the walk. 

All runners must be registered and appropriately display your timing bib.

*Volunteers will direct you for parking. Enter from 116th St and Rogers Street. You may drop off family members and be asked to park on the street, or at the lot off 124th Street.

7:30am to 9:15am Event day registration (LOOK FOR BLUE TABLE CLOTHS, CASH OR CHECK ONLY) and pre-registered bag pick-up

9:30am Announcements and welcome

9:45am KIDS DASH DIVISIONS - boys&girls 12 to 9 years, boys&girls 8 to 5 years, boys&girls 4 years and under (all will receive a ribbon)

10:00am Annual Bubble Memorial / Fun Walk departs on park path for a half mile loop around the lagoon (feel free to walk it more than once)

10:45am Rowdy Race Day Raffle Winners drawn - must be present to win

Water and refreshments, group photos, face-painting and kid games provided. Event area is primarily grass covered; ambulance is on-site if needed.

11:30am event ends, see you on August 8, 2020!

*ENCOURAGED THIS YEAR: bring your own picnic and enjoy lunch with other spina bifida families. Picnic tables in the grass, a playground and restrooms are available. Please be respectful of park rules, clean-up and recycle. Spina Bifida Wisconsin staff will be hanging around to answer any questions and help people meet their peers. Enjoy!

Event/Park Rules: No pets, no smoking, no vaping, no alcohol, no roller-blades or skateboards. This event will run rain or shine (events may be delayed for inclement weather)

Refund Policy

Refunds will not be given for this race. Race registration costs are not tax deductible donations because goods and services were received in exchange. Receipts for registration costs will not be provided.
