Sprint for Spina Bifida Cheers to 30 Years Fun Walk/Roll

Join us for the 30th annual Sprint for Spina Bifida Fun Walk and Roll benefiting Spina Bifida Wisconsin. This event is held at Greenfield Park and includes a fun walk and roll that is designed to be accessible to anyone who would like to participate. This event provides a critical source of funding for Spina Bifida Wisconsin’s operational costs and services. Money raised helps us continue to change the lives of Wisconsin children, adults and families impacted by spina bifida. We can’t wait to have you join us and celebrate 30 YEARS STRONG!

Our event includes sharing in our annual bubble memorial to remember those we’ve lost, the fun walk / roll on either a short or long route (you choose), fantastic raffle prizes, our 50/50 raffle, refreshments and enjoying the park's playground.

• Celebration signs - opportunity to have a customized sign along the walk route
• A chance to suggest a new name for our event

• Deadline for online registration, with green event shirt guaranteed, is midnight Sunday, July 23rd (due to shirt company required deadline)
• Registrations are accepted online to July 31st however, an event shirt is not included.  A limited number of SB logo shirts will be available until sizes run out.

2023 GIVE AWAY

Those who have completed the online pre-registration before midnight on July 23rd are guaranteed a custom event shirt (cotton t-shirt, green with event logo). Shirts will be sorted into event bags by last name for everyone who completed the online pre-registration. Event bags can be picked up at Greenfield park before the walk, starting at 8am. We print the names of our fundraising teams and members on the back of the t-shirts, so to be included, you won't want to miss this important deadline!

EVENT SCHEDULE

8am – 9am Event day registration ($30/person cash or check only; event shirt not included) and event bag pick up for all who completed the online pre-registration

9am Announcements and welcome

9:15am Annual Bubble Memorial (bubbles will be in your event bag)

9:30am Fun Walk / Roll departs and our Celebration Signs will be along the route

Enjoy refreshments, the playground, stop by our photo area for a group and individual photo, decide on raffle items, purchase 50 / 50 raffle tickets, join the kid's book walk, and enjoy the live music!

11:30am Raffle winners drawn

12:00 Event ends. Your family is welcome to stay, picnic and enjoy the playground and park. See you next year!

REGISTRATION TIPS

"Event" registration - To have different price categories, the software platform calls each a different "Event". Please read each event/category carefully when registering.

Mail in registrations are due by Thursday, July 20th. Click HERE to be redirected to the website that allows printable PDF files. Please complete one form per person. Forms are also available by clicking EVENT in the menu at the top of the website page.

Online registrations: RunSignUp will require you to log in and/or create an account/profile. The event website can be a bit tricky for first time users. Complete your registration first, and then add other people in your family. Please contact Kathy at sbwis@sbwis.org with any questions.

Register yourself first and complete each step (your information, your event(s), your donation (wait to create VIP Fundraiser) when you get to the payment page, scroll to bottom and click blue button to "add another registrant". Create the VIP Fundraiser when you register the VIP. Add another person, complete each step of choosing the event, then answer the questions and select shirt size, and continue to payment page. When finished adding everyone on this transaction, complete payment information and check out.

Everything is fairly straight-forward, until your registration step reaches the DONATE page. Here there are lots of choices that can be confusing. 

When you register a VIP, to "Create a VIP Fundraising Team" - do this step in the registration of the person you are fundraising for. Example, complete Gabi's registration, and on the donation page, click the blue box to "Become a VIP Fundraiser". Change the name to Gabi's Group, personalize your fundraising goal, upload an image, personalize the message and you are all set! Don't do this twice (there is another prompt) or two fundraisers will be created. Scroll down the page, click continue to payment page and either add another registrant, or complete payment and check out. VIP Fundraising Teams created prior to midnight on July 23rd, who have raised $50 or more, will be listed on the back of our event shirts.

If you are a small group, small family, or individual participating on your own, you can skip this entirely and just complete your registration. You can also donate to an established VIP Fundraising Team by selecting the specific team and entering your donation.

ENTER YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION page is your chance to carefully review each registrant's information, shirt size and fundraiser name. Click to expand parts of the page to see everything. Make all corrections before submitting payment.

Online donation pages for VIP Fundraising Teams and our event “DONATE” button will remain active until midnight August 13th to capture those last minute donations from family and friends.

PURCHASE A CELEBRATION SIGN

New this year, you have the chance to purchase a celebration sign to be displayed along the event route. Purchasing a celebration sign is a way to honor a very important person with spina bifida, a way to give everyone encouraging words or a positive message. Messages must be 6 or fewer words and SBWIS reserves the right to not print or display signs that may be offensive. Your sign is yours to keep, and can be picked up at the raffle table at the end of our event.
