What is rucking?
Rucking is a physical activity that involves walking or hiking with a weighted backpack (called a rucksack). The term comes from the military, where soldiers train and operate carrying heavy loads over long distances. In civilian fitness and recreation, rucking is gaining popularity as a versatile and low-impact workout. We now offer it at all Chilly Willy Events!

Kids can join the fun too with our Kiddo’s 1K for just $5—all proceeds benefit the Oconomowoc Christmas Lights Fund! It’s a great way to give back while making holiday memories together.

Parking Information
Parking is available on-site. However, with over 2,000 participants expected, we strongly encourage carpooling to help reduce congestion and ensure everyone has a smooth arrival.
Course
The race will start and finish at Oconomowoc High School. The course is mostly flat with minimal elevation change, making it friendly for all fitness levels. Please note: all courses are subject to change — after all, it is winter, and Old Man Winter tends to make his own plans!
Aid Stations
There will be one aid station on the 5K course. The 5K runners will pass the aid station twice. There will be two aid station on the 10K course. The 10K runners will pass each of them twice.
T-Shirts
Everyone who is registered by 11:59 am, Wednesday, November 12 will be guaranteed a custom cotton unisex Gobble Wobble T-shirt. After that, T-shirts will be available while online supplies last. Any extra shirts will be distributed after the race on a first come, first served basis. About T-shirts.

PLEASE BRING YOUR EMAIL RECEIPT WITH YOU!
You do not need to print it, but we will need to scan the QR code on the email receipt, so please have your email accessible on your mobile device or save a picture of your receipt with the QR code to your device’s image library. We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet early.

New! Preassembled Team Packets
We’re making race day even easier for teams! Here’s how it works:
If your team has 4 or more members by Monday, November 24th at noon, we’ll preassemble your entire team’s packets—including:
- Race shirts
- Bibs labeled with each runner’s name, shirt size, bib number, gender, age, and event
These will be ready in one convenient bundle for pickup. We encourage you to pick up your team's packet at early packet pickup.
Important:
- One person (Team Captain or designee) should pick up the entire team’s packets. Make sure you tell your team where you are going to meet them to distribute packets.
- No individual pickups will be allowed for qualifying teams.
- Teams with fewer than 4 members can still pick up individually.
How to Join a Team (Even if You’re Already Registered)
It’s super easy (and again, free!):
- Head to your race registration at RunSignUp.com
- Click on your Profile
- Scroll to the race
- Select Group/Team
- Join an existing team or create a new one!
📣 Heads-up for Captains:
If you registered team members using your own email address, they won’t receive race communications. Be sure to forward this info so everyone is in the loop!
Picking up more than one packet
If you are picking up for more than a couple people, please do the following:
1. Put all of their QR codes on one sheet of paper OR
2. Write all of their names on one sheet of paper (last name, first name, t-shirt).
That will make your life a whole lot easier when you go to hand out the info to your team.

Featuring a wide variety of tasty toppings and mix-ins, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after your chilly run. You’ll find the Hot Chocolate Bar at every event in the Chilly Willy Winter Run Series. It’s also where we typically announce race awards—so don’t miss the fun, the flavors, and the celebration!
Awards
Your race time and age group result are available online after you cross the finish line - select RESULTS from the menu above. All participants receive a custom Ridgeway Woodworks Finisher Woodle and the top 3 male & female finishers in 5-year age groups will receive a custom medal. An awards ceremony will take place at the race. Awards can also be picked up the Wednesday after the race at Silver Circle's Global Headquarters in Oconomowoc, WI.
Your age is based on the date of the last event in the Chilly Willy Winter Run Series.
Average Joe & Jane Awards
The Average Joe & Jane Awards are back for the Chilly Willy Series 5K Runs are presented to the male and female runner who finished in the exact middle of all runners. Winners will receive a t-shirt and custom medal!

Volunteers
We need volunteers for everything from aid station support to course marshals. If you or your group have an interest in volunteering, we would greatly appreciate the assistance. Timing
The race is chip timed by Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC with a chip start. Your time will start when you cross the start line and stops when you cross the finish line.
How to wear your bib.
Kiddos 1K
Bring the whole family. The kiddos 1K is only $5.00 and 100% of the money gets donated to the Oconomowoc Christmas Lights Fund.
- This event is limited to 10 year old and younger kids.
- It is not a full kilometer because they are little kids.
- All kiddos receive a finisher medal.
Walkers Welcome
Walkers and families are welcome to participate! We ask that all walkers stay to the right of the road so runners can pass on the left.

Weather / Refund Policy
Refunds are not permitted for any reason.
The event will be held unless severe weather occurs. In the event of severe weather, the race director may delay or cancel the event. If the event is canceled, there will be no refunds. Silver Circle Sports Events has a NO REFUND policy.

Follow these steps to make changes to your race registration:

- Select your Profile.
- Scroll down to the race you wish to modify.

At Silver Circle Sports Events, we believe T-shirts should be more than just a giveaway—they're a badge of accomplishment. Whether it’s a 140.6-mile triathlon you trained a year for or a fun mud run with your kids, it’s about celebrating the memories made along the way.
As athletes ourselves, we know how frustrating a low-quality, scratchy T-shirt can be. That’s why we focus on creating high-quality shirts with thoughtful designs—the kind you’ll actually want to wear.
Why We Do Things Differently
Predicting participant registration after the T-shirt lead time is only slightly easier than predicting the weather. In the past, this meant thousands of surplus shirts piling up in our warehouse—wasteful and not very eco-friendly.
So, we made a change:
- Shirt Guarantee Deadline: Participants who register by a set date are guaranteed a T-shirt.
- After the Deadline: Remaining shirts go into an online inventory.
- Opt-Out Option: You can opt out of a T-shirt before the deadline and save on your registration fee.
This approach reduces waste, saves money, and is better for the planet.
