The Wausau Marathon Gives Back
Giving Back
The Wausau Marathon is proud to give back to the community that supports us. In 2023, the Shannon Marie & Louis Porter Smith Foundation assumed ownership of the Wausau Marathon with a renewed commitment to making a meaningful impact in our community.
In 2026, the Wausau Marathon donated $15,450 to local organizations, bringing our total giving since 2023 to $39,050. These funds support organizations throughout Wausau and Marathon County, strengthening the people and programs that help our community thrive.
Organizations Impacted: Wausau West Cross Country, DC Everest Booster Club, Northern Extreme Athletics, Friends of the Gridiron (Newman), Wausau Newman Girls Basketball, Wisconsin Valley Radio Association, Wausau Emergency PD, and the Shannon Marie & Louis Porter Smith Foundation.
