Winter Runderland FAQ
The time limit for the 5k is 1.5 hours. The cutoff time of 10am is determined by our event permit, which allows us to use the roads, police support and other town resources for a specified period of time. After the permitted time ends, participants can choose to finish the race utilizing the sidewalks. Finishers will still be welcomed with a medal after the 10am cutoff.
We are a pet friendly event. All pets are required to be on a leash at all times, have up-to-date vaccinations and be well-behaved in crowds. You must also pick up after your pets.
At the end of the race there will be a designated area for a pet rest station with water bowls.
There will be one water station around mile 1.5. There will also be water and post race snacks for runners at the finish line.
A courtesy shuttle will run starting at 7:30 am from Aberdeen Ransdell Sportsplex, 350 Ransdell Way, Aberdeen NC 28315. This shuttle will conclude at 1pm. If you choose to park downtown Aberdeen make sure you are not parking on any roadways or streets that will be blocked for the race or parade.
Strollers are allowed on the race course. We do request that you start toward the back of the corral to avoid impeding other runners. Awards will be presented to first male and female stroller to cross the finish line.
No, as long as they are in a stroller, there is no charge for having them along for the ride.
The race will be held, rain or shine, unless we determine that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a decision made on race weekend or race day by Race Officials and local law enforcement officials. If the race is cancelled due to inclement weather there will be no refunds or transfers.

Yes of course you can walk. However, be mindful of the time cut off. Since the Aberdeen Christmas parade will follow the 5k race, we will limit the race course to 1.5 hours to allow our law enforcement officers to get to their next post to make sure they are ready for the parade to start.
We strongly encourage festive clothing for this race. The more festive the better!
We did have to cut the t-shirt orders but have ordered extras. Extra t-shirts will be given out following the race, there is no guarantee we will have one for every participant.
