FAQ:

What time should I get there on race day?

Please plan on arriving at least 45 minutes before the start of your race to give you enough time to park and walk to the starting area. Be considerate of downtown neighbors and businesses and do not park driveways or parking lots.

My child is racing in the 1 mile, can I run with them?

Yes, you may run with your child if you yourself are registered for the same race. Infants being pushed in strollers do not need to be registered, but the parent does.

Will anyone be taking professional photos?

Idaho Sports Pics will be at the race taking pictures and will have photos available for purchase after the race here: https://www.idahosportspics.com/

Can I change my race distance?

Yes – please do so ASAP! Send an email to racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org, or tell a staff member at packet pickup that you’d like to change.

If you decide to change distances mid race, please find a race official as soon as you finish and tell them which distance you changed to & share your bib # so we can update your profile in our system. This helps us know who is on the course and when we have all the runners in.

Where is the timing chip?

Your timing chip is on the back of your bib. Do not bend your bib/timing chip. Everyone is timed. Results will be available after the race for you to check if you'd like.  Your bib MUST be on the front of your body!

What time does each race start?

1 Mile Reindeer Dash - 10:00am

2 & 6 Mile Run/Walk - 10:15am

Are there other events happening before or after the race?

There will be a costume contest at 9:30am on the front steps of Boise High. After you finish, enjoy a complimentary bagel from Blue Sky Bagels and head to the Boise High Cafeteria for awards.

Is the course well marked?

Yes, you can pick up a map to review the course or find a digital copy on our website on the Course Maps page

Are Stollers allowed?

Yes, strollers must line up at the back of the group for safety

Are dogs welcome?

PACKET PICK UP & RACE DAY FAQ

Where is packet pickup held?

Friday, Dec 18th  from 3–7 pm at Boise High School (1010 W Washington St.) in the cafeteria.

Come collect your bib, crew neck and race swag. The first 1,000 people to pick up their packets will receive Christmas Run Gloves. We highly recommend early packet pick-up to avoid the lines on Saturday morning.

Race Day pick-up will be available from 7:30am- 9:45am in the Boise High Cafeteria.

Can I check in & pick up bibs for a friend, too? Do I need my ID?

Yes you can – we just need first and last names. Please let the staff member or volunteer know when you arrive at a computer that you’re picking up for more than one family. No ID needed.

Where are the start and finish lines?

Start: Start at Boise High, West on Washington

Finish: Franklin St/10th St

What time should I arrive for my race?

We highly suggest arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the start of your race to allow time for parking, walking to the starting line, checking gear, etc.

Where do I get my shirt? Can I change sizes?

T-shirts can be picked up at Packet Pickup, either on Friday or on Saturday morning. A volunteer will write the shirt size you designated at registration on the back of your bib, then you will take your bib number over to the t-shirt table. You must have a bib number to pick up a shirt.

If you'd like to change your shirt size, you can email us at racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org

***There are NO exchanges during Packet Pickup or until after the race - you can take your shirt to the Registration tent at the end of the race to see if your preferred shirt size is still available.***

Late or Day-of registrations are not guaranteed a shirt - it is based on availability. In some instances, we may reorder more shirts and will email participants when they arrive, but this is based on demand.
