RUNNING THE RACE

What to expect on course for Pub 317's Run to the Pub 10K and Half Marathon races

COURSES: The 10K and half marathon courses are loop-style, starting and ending on Main Street. They have a few hills and some winding turns, mostly taking you through the south side of Bozeman.

HALF MARATHON AID STATIONS:  Half Marathon stations (4 total) are located at Highland & Kagy, Sourdough Rd*, Goldenstein, and S 3rd & Kagy. There will be water and LMNT electrolyte, plus gels at the Sourdough aid station.

10K AID STATIONS:  10K stations (2 total) are located at Highland & Kagy, and S 3rd & Kagy. There will be water and LMNT electrolyte available.

BATHROOMS ON COURSE:  There is one bathroom on the 10k course, and two bathrooms on the Half Marathon course. Please view the course maps to see the locations. Bathrooms will also be located at the start/finish line on Main Street.

WEATHER:  Bozeman temperatures in March average between 24° F and 46° F. We have experienced a wide range of temperatures over the years — including a sunny day in the 70s and a cold day in the 20s with snow. We encourage you to have no expectations for what the weather might hold, and be prepared for varying temperatures. We have never had to cancel the race due to weather.

DROP BAGS:  If it turns out to be a chilly day, we encourage you to use the gear bag that is provided to you at bib pickup. Bring your puffy coat along, and then stash it in this bag before the start. Just be sure to label the bag with your bib number, and do not leave any important personal items in your bag as RTTP is not responsible for any items lost. Discarded clothing that is left at the start line will be donated locally to those in need.

HEADPHONES / EAR BUDS:  They are strongly discouraged as the course remains open to vehicle traffic. If you must wear headphones, we recommend low-volume or open-ear headphones to remain alert to your surroundings and passing runners.

DOGS & OTHER ANIMALS:  Sorry, no animals are allowed on the course.

STROLLERS:  Yes, you may run or walk with a stroller.  Please be aware of runners around you, and start towards the back of the race to allow runners to space out in the beginning.

TIME LIMITS: You have 4 hours to complete the race.
