The Big Run 5k FAQS
When is packet pick up?
Packet Pick for the in person option will be at Fleet Feet Flatwoods on Thursday May 30th from 4-7pm and Friday May 31st from 4-7pm. And race morning at Al Lopez Park starting at 6:30am. If you are participating virtually, during registration you can decide which of the three Fleet Feet Tampa locations is most convenient for you to pick up your packet starting on Monday May 27th thru June 5th during regular business hours. Or for a fee you can have your packet shipped to you!
Can someone else pick up my race packet for me?
Absolutely! If you can't make it to packet pickup, recruit a friend, family member, or a highly motivated hamster to collect your goodies. Just make sure they bring a permission slip signed in invisible ink.
Is there a secret handshake to get my packet?
While we don't have a secret handshake, a high-five at the packet pickup is strongly encouraged. If you can manage a cartwheel, we might just upgrade your race swag! Just need your race registration email.
Is the event pet friendly?
While our staff and our stores are super pet friendly, unfortunately due to insurance and venue agreements, we cannot allow pets at the event. Service animals are not considered pets.
Will there be photographers? I need proof for bragging rights.
Paparazzi alert! We've got photographers capturing your best angles. Show off your race face, victory dance or dramatic finish line pose. #RunSmile
Do I have to run the entire 5K, can I walk?
No need to sprint like Eliud Kipchoge! Walk, skip, hop, or even moonwalk - as long as you cross the finish line with a smile, you're a winner!
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes! Strollers are allowed. Please line yourself up to the runner's right, and place yourself around your estimated pace.
What if I get lost during the race?
Fear not, we've deployed GPS-equipped squirrels along the route. JK JK! Our course is well-marked, and our volunteers are expert navigators - no one has ever accidentally run a marathon in our 5k!
Is there a water station, or should I bring a camel backpack?
Hydration is key! We've got water stations strategically placed, so leave your camel at home. However, if your camel has running shoes, we might reconsider.
Remember, it's not just a 5K; it's a party on the pavement! Lace up those shoes, bring your A-game, and let's make memories – and maybe a few running jokes – together!
