Description

5th Annual Race to Save the Harvest!

Minto-Brown Island Park

This family friendly fun run will be held in-person and will follow all state mandate and Marion County health orders in place at the time of the race. We are planning a 5 minute Rolling Start window to provide physical separation at the start of the race. Runners will be asked to approach and cross the start line as they are comfortable during this Rolling Start window.

There will be Separate Course Loops for the 3k and 5k distances within Minto-Brown Park. The 5k start point will be at the south end of Parking Lot 3 near the covered picnic area. The 3k start point will be at the north end of Parking Lot 3. Please review the course maps located under the Race Info tab at the top of this webpage. Maps will also be available at the start points for review.

There will be No Official Timing at this event. Our focus is on providing a safe, fun, family event where you can run, walk, hop, skip, or jump your way through the course with friends and family to support the work of Salem Harvest.

What else to expect at this year's race?

All funds earned will be used to help Salem Harvest gather fresh produce from local farms that would go to waste and make it available for hungry families in the Willamette Valley. The harvested food would be left in the fields to rot unless it is saved by working quickly. These fruits and vegetables are perfectly delicious but not usable by growers. So... Salem Harvest volunteers Race to the fields to Save the Harvest and get this unused resource into the community!

Event t-shirts will be included with registrations being made before July 2. Entry fees increase and shirts won't be available during registration on July 2 or later. Register early to get the best price and a fun event shirt.

Raffle prizes will be available for participants. Seven fabulous raffle prizes will be available this year. Prizes will be randomly chosen at 5:00pm on July 15th and will be available to winners that evening at packet pick up. Prizes can also be picked up on July 16th at the race check-in table.

Ima Blueberry will be in attendance! We can't have a Race to Save the Harvest without our favorite celebrity - Ima Oregon Blueberry - cheering everyone on and sharing the goodness of Oregon's favorite fruit. Come on down to the park to visit Ima and help her cheer for participants along the course! Everyone is welcome!

**This race will follow all required public health mandates applicable on the day of the race. If these requirements affect any portion of the event, we will inform registered participants as soon as possible.**
