About this Race Series

Become a "Legend"!

The Swan's Running club is happy for this race season, to continue it's legends series.

The aim of the Legends series is to celebrate Bermuda's race legends and to keep their contribution to running alive. There are 4 events that are part of this legend series and participants within the series must participate in a minimum of three (3) of the four (4)races.

The Ed Sherlock 8K Run
The Ray Swan Flat 8K
The Ludwig Cann 10K
The "Sir" Stanley Burgess 5K

Overall, Legend Points

The point system for the Legends Series is as follows:

1st place = 25 points
2nd place = 18 points
3rd place = 15 points
4th place = 12 points
5th place = 10 points
6th place = 8 points
7th place = 6 points
8th place = 4 points
9th place = 2 points
Remaining participants = 1 point
Double points will be awarded to all participants in the 4th and final race. In the event of a tie, the tie breaker is determined by the fastest recorded time in the first event date where both individuals participated.

The male and female participant with the highest number of accrued points will be crowned the overall Legends Series winner. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Age Group Legend Points
The first male and female winner in each age categories will win the Series titles and receive trophies based on the following point system.

1st place = 15 points
2nd place = 12 points
3rd place = 10 points
4th place = 8 points
5th place = 6 points
6th place = 4 points
7th place = 2 points
Remaining participants = 1 point
AGE CATEGORIES FOR ALL LEGENDS RACES (Age group awards are based on ones age as of first race in series)
20 – 39 = Open
40+ = Masters
50+ = Seniors
60+ = Veterans
70+ = Legends
Notes
The Overall Male/Female Legend Series Winner is not eligible for the AGE Group series.

Age group awards are based on ones age as of the date of the first race of the series.

By Registering for the Entire Series your entry will automatically be in each of the 4 above mentioned races.

LEGENDS RACE SERIES PRIZES

Overall male and female runner with the highest accrued points in 3 out of 4 races wins the Legends Race Series trophy and a cash prize of $1000.00 each.
Age group winners will also receive prizes.
All series participants that complete the series (runs 3 out of 4 races) will receive a Legends t-shirt and commemorative medal.

DRAW PRIZE RULES
Only Legends Race Series participants that enter and complete the series (3 out of 4 races) are eligible for the prize draw.
The draw prize consists of paid entry into the AJC Peachtree Road Race (10K) to be held on in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Included is airfare (value $500) and 3 nights stay at the DoubleTree Hotel in Buckhead.
Winner must accept prize as is. It is non-transferable and there is no prize substitution.
If the initial winner is unable to accept the prize (as is), a subsequent draw will take place.
The draw will take place on after the Sir Stanley Burgess 5K Race. (Race 4 of the Series)
All decisions made by the Directors of the Legends Race Series are final.
By participating in this Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
All Series Participants receive a t-shirt and medal (time and place for pickup to be advised)

Other draw prizes will be up for grabs for all participants who enter and complete the series (3 out of 4 races)
