About this Race Series

The Upstate Brew Series welcomes all runners and of course beer drinkers alike to the 1st Annual Upstate Brew Series. Our goal is to bring the running community a little closer with some liquid courage! This competitive point series will include 7 events in the upstate. You can score points by finishing each race and by scoring in the top 10 of your age group.

Welcome to the Upstate Brew Series, a thrilling six-event race series that beckons both seasoned runners and enthusiastic newcomers to lace up their sneakers and embrace the joy of running. Our series is not just about the thrill of the race; it's a celebration of community, camaraderie, and, of course, the love of craft brews. Each event is uniquely crafted to challenge participants while fostering a sense of connection among fellow runners. 

The series kicks off with:  

• Hair of the Dog 2 Mile on January 6th
  

• Lovers Lane 5k on February 11th

• Chase the Rainbow 5k on March 16th
  

• The Downville Mile on June 1st
  

• Red White & Brew 5k on June 29th
  

• Beer & BBQ 5k on October 5th
  

• Rivalry Fan 5k on November 30th

As runners traverse picturesque routes and compete in diverse distances, they not only accumulate points but also become part of a vibrant running community. Each race offers a unique flavor, reflecting the spirit of its location and the distinctive characteristics of the Upstate region. So, whether you're chasing personal records, aiming for age group victories, or simply reveling in the thrill of the run, the Upstate Brew Series invites you to join us on a journey that combines the passion for running with the pleasure of post-race celebrations featuring local craft brews and unforgettable memories.

*You are entered in the age group category based off of your age on December 31st of this year. You may still place in your current age group category for the individual races but the series is scored based on your end of year age. Athletes are automatically entered into the series when they register for any race and are scored automatically with our timing software. To ensure automatic scoring please use the same RunSignUp profile.

Discounts for Points! We will still recognize our top 3 award winners but we are giving everyone a chance to jump in on the discount action! Scoring is easy! Sign up for one of the 7 races listed below and when you finish you will score points based off the criteria alone. The best part is you even score points for finishing! These races are not easy so we want to encourage everyone to push themselves to the very end! Discounts apply to all 7 events.

• 50 Points = 100% OFF 
• 45+ Points = 75% OFF
• 40+ Points = 50% OFF
• 35+ Points = 25 % OFF
• 25 + Points - 15% OFF

Races will be scored per your age group as of 12/31/2024

• 1st Place - 10 points
• 2nd place - 9 points
• 3rd Place - 8 points
• 4th Place - 7 points
• 5th Place - 6 points
• 6th Place - 5 points
• 7th Place - 4 points
• 8th Place - 3 points
• 9th Place - 2 points
• 10th Place and all remaining finishers receive 1 point
