Postponed to TBA (November Sunday Race)

New Date: TBA (November Sunday Race)

Good morning Beer & BBQ 5K participants,

I’m sorry to share that we have cancelled the Beer & BBQ 5K Run/Walk scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd, at Bridgeway Station.

The forecast is calling for thunderstorms and 2–3 inches of rain during the race window, and with the potential for lightning, we cannot safely put runners, staff, volunteers, and officers on the course.

This is not a decision I make lightly, and we appreciate your understanding.

What Happens With Your Entry?

You have two options:

Option 1: Transfer to Another Upstate Race Series Event

You may transfer your registration to another Upstate Race Series event for a $5 transfer fee.

Transfer Deadline: 5:00 PM tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd

How to Transfer:

Go to https://runsignup.com/Profile and sign in using the account that was used to register. If someone else registered you, your entry will be under their account.
Under Upcoming Events, find the Beer & BBQ 5K and click Manage Registration.
Select Transfer to Another Race.
- On a phone, this option is in the menu at the top of the page.
- On a computer, it may appear on the left side.
Choose the race you would like to transfer into.
Before completing the transfer, you will see the $5 transfer fee and the credit from your Beer & BBQ 5K registration.
Click Start Transfer and complete the registration questions, waiver, and event selection for your new race.
If the new race costs more than your available credit, you will pay the difference at checkout.

Your transfer is not complete until you receive a confirmation email for the new race.

Not sure which race to choose?
You can view our upcoming events at:
www.upstateraceseries.com

From the same Manage Registration page, you can also update your personal information, review your purchase, or resend your confirmation email.

Option 2: Do Nothing & Receive a 50% Off Coupon

If you do not transfer your registration by the deadline, you do not need to take any action.

After the transfer window closes, you will be emailed a 50% off coupon for a future Upstate Race Series event.

Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, for supporting our races and the local nonprofits behind the Giving Series.

We hate that we won’t get to see everyone at Bridgeway Station tomorrow, but safety has to come first. We hope to see you at another Upstate Race Series finish line soon!

Cheers,

Matt Hammersmith

Course or Race Highlight

October evenings in the Upstate are close to perfect running weather, and a 5K is the distance that lets everyone in your group take part without anyone having to train for it. This is deliberately the easiest race on our calendar to say yes to — short, flat, paved, and over in the time it takes for the barbecue to finish.

Your registration includes a complimentary beer at the finish and access to the post-race barbecue celebration, with music, great vibes, and a Saturday-night atmosphere. Every finisher receives a medal, event-themed giveaways, a custom race sticker for your cooler, water bottle, or toolbox, and complimentary race photos. Your entry supports local nonprofits through the Giving Series.
