ACTION Club (All Connecting To Improve Our Neighborhoods) is the largest student-led volunteer organization at Okemos High School. The club engages students in diverse service projects, including mentoring at-risk youth through the Chieftain Champs program, assisting at senior centers, supporting local shelters, and organizing school-wide initiatives. By fostering a culture of service and leadership, ACTION Club empowers students to make a meaningful impact in their community.
Meridian Cares supports Meridian Township residents in crisis by connecting them to local resources—and stepping in with direct assistance when needed. With 1 in 3 households struggling financially, Meridian Cares helps prevent hunger, homelessness, and other severe hardships.
Community Mental Health of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties envisions a community where every person with a mental health need has access to the support and resources they need to live with dignity, pursue their goals, and fully participate in community life. Their mission centers on justice, inclusion, and care for those facing mental illness, developmental disabilities, emotional challenges, or substance use disorders.
Eli’s Project is a nonprofit working to prevent youth suicide through education, advocacy, and community action. Founded in memory of Eli Fleetwood, the organization aims to support children facing mental health challenges and is involved with helping young people through school-based 988 Clubs, awareness events, and mental health resources. Through these efforts, the organization strives to create a supportive community where no child feels alone.
Ele’s Place is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to supporting grieving children, teens, young adults, and their families across Michigan.
