Welcome to my Cross for LifeFlight Fundraising Page!
As you may know, when I was just 9 days old, I was transported by helicopter from Pen Bay Medical Center to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Because of that experience, my family and I have spent the past 15 years supporting LifeFlight of Maine and the incredible work they do.
The biggest fundraiser of the year is called the Cross for LifeFlight. Before COVID, the event was known as the Islesboro Crossing, where participants swam across Penobscot Bay from Lincolnville to Islesboro. One of my earliest memories of LifeFlight is helping my mom volunteer at the Islesboro Crossing in 2016. More recently, in 2023 and 2024, my mom and I both fundraised for LifeFlight virtually. This year I am going to be doing it myself, and I am going to set a goal to bike 1 mile for every $5 donated to my fundraiser page. I will also be running a 5K with other supporters in Portland later in August.
LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization and the state's only emergency medical helicopter service. With three helicopters, an airplane, and ground ambulances, LifeFlight brings ICU-level care directly to the patient. As Maine's only air ambulance service, LifeFlight has served more than 42,000 patients, one life at a time, from every community and hospital in the state.
Thank you so much for supporting my efforts, and mostly, for supporting this critically important service.
