Description

CHA's 32nd Annual Dog Jog will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2022! As with last year, we are excited to offer an in-person option at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus, as well as a virtual option for those who cannot participate on race day but would still like to contribute to the cause! As a participant, you have the option to sign up for either event option when you register.

Those who choose the in-person event on October 2 at Genoa Park will enjoy a scenic run/walk in downtown Columbus and be able to visit a variety of vendor booths and participate in games and other activities. Those who choose to participate in the event virtually will not be officially timed for the race or have access to in-person event festivities, but can take part in the event between October 2nd and October 9th by running or walking along their favorite neighborhood routes, on their local bike paths, or wherever running and walking is safely permitted.

Keep reading below for further information on this year's race. Thanks so much for your support!

FUNDRAISING

Make a difference to the animals in your community by joining us for the 32nd Annual Dog Jog 5K and Fun Run, a fundraising event that supports CHA Animal Shelter.

To participate in this event, simply register to either complete a 5K Run/Walk or a 1-Mile Run/Walk virtually or onsite at Genoa Park. It is always a great experience to enjoy a fun-filled morning of exercise with your ENTIRE family, including your dog! For those who are unable to join us for the in-person event on October 2 at Genoa Park, there is a virtual option, where participants can submit results anytime between October 2 and October 9! For more information on the virtual race, see our section titled "How Does A Virtual Race Work?" below.

You don't have to run or walk or attend the event to make a difference at our shelter - you can always become a fundraiser and make your voice heard in your community:

  • To become a fundraiser, go to GoFundMe.com and create a campaign benefitting CHA Animal Shelter (View the guide here: https://chaanimalshelter.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/GoFundMe_How_To.pdf).

  • Share the link to your GoFundMe page with others through text, email, or social media and email your link to Catherine@chaanimalshelter.org so that it can be added to the Dog Jog event page on the shelter website.

  • You can make the page in memory of a lost pet or even make a goofy page for an energetic pet that needs to burn some energy on the run. Either way, it's for a great cause!

  • This year we are offering special prizes to our fundraisers based on the donations you are able to collect! Check out the different levels below. Photos of the fundraiser incentives can be found on our website at http://www.chaanimalshelter.org/dogjog.

    • $50 - 2 In-Shelter Cage Sponsorships
    • $100 - Dog Leash
    • $200 – Pair of Tea Lights
    • $400 – Mug
    • $800 - Journal
    • $1500 – Umbrella

Not interested in signing up as an individual fundraiser? General donations to CHA can be made through the Dog Jog event page on the shelter website. Special prizes in addition to the fundraising incentives above will be awarded to the TOP 3 fundraisers!
