About David

David passed away in Spain, on December 10th, 2023 accompanied by his wife, kids, and other family. In his 9-year long fight, he was able to meet every Thursday evening with Beer Runner friends, and officiate many of their weddings; share his love for music, DJ-ing on Gospel Sundays and Radio Delaware Valley Tuesdays; go on antique-shopping dates in Lancaster with his wife, and on scuba diving vacations in Mexico; he was able to see his son graduate from his same alma mater, the University of Virginia, and visit his daughter during her year abroad in Italy. David Norman April lived a fulfilling life with his loved ones, during every chapter of his journey, thanks to the medical research that you can help support today.

Fundraise for the David April Emergency Patient Support Center

The goal: raise $250,000 to allow Legacy of Hope to open the David April Emergency Patient Support Center.

David's family and friends wish to honor his life as David would have wanted: by helping others. All proceeds and donations from this event will go to Legacy of Hope's David April Fund. If you'd like to make a larger contribution to the fund, we encourage you to become a fundraiser.

Anyone who opts be be a fundraiser will get their own custom donation page. Add your own details to your page, and share it with your friends and family to help us raise more to help more families, for David. You can fundraise if you are attending the event - but you can also fundraise if you are unable to make it to Philadelphia. Fundraisers can also join forces in teams!

About Legacy of Hope

This celebration is a fundraiser for Legacy of Hope, a Philly organization that helps cancer patients find new cures and receive emergency patient support. They partner with hospitals and local groups to assist financially-struggling patients who have no other options. Additionally, they fund cancer research by using the expertise of Philly's top researchers to select and support promising scientists. With a focus on expediting new cures and making a meaningful difference in cancer treatment, Legacy of Hope is an important resource for Philadelphia's cancer patients.

David served on the board of Legacy for Hope and believed in the mission of the organization. Through the David April Fund, we can honor the life and legacy of David by providing support to fellow cancer patients and their families. The David April Fund will enable the organization to open the David April Emergency Patient Support Center.

No Questions Asked.

We have opted to set a fee for this celebration so we can harness the love for David into monetary power for Legacy of Hope. Beyond limited expenses, all registration funds will be donated to the David April Fund to help open the David April Emergency Patient Support Center. However, David was passionate about welcoming everyone, always. If you want to join us in remembrance but are unable to pay the fee, please register using the code NoQuestionsAsked (case sensitive). No questions will be asked.
