15 years ago I was in an accident and LifeFlight played a critical role in saving my life. My husband Matthew Russ and I have been avid supporters of LifeFlight ever since and for the 12th year we are participating in LifeFlight's summer fundraiser. On August 15th, we participated in a Family-Fun 5K Run/Walk around Portland's Back Cove. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful way to show our support, and raise awareness for LifeFlight. 

LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization and the state’s only emergency medical helicopter service. With four helicopters, an airplane and ground ambulances, LifeFlight brings ICU-level care directly to the patient. As Maine’s only air ambulance service, LifeFlight has served more than 42,000 patients, one life at a time, from every community and hospital in the state. They were there for me on my worst day, and Matt and I hope they will be there for anyone in Maine should the unthinkable happen.

For every $50 you donate, we will enter your name in a drawing to win Matthew Russ’ painting, Vinalhaven and Beyond, a 16" x 20" oil on canvas, valued at $3,500. The painting is shown below.
