Join us Saturday, June 16, 2018 (Father’s Day Weekend) for the 11th annual Necktie 5K Walk & Run. As the name implies, participants are encouraged to wear neckties during the run in recognition of fathers everywhere! Prizes will be awarded to participants with the most-creative neckties. Prizes are also awarded to the first father\son and father\daughter teams to finish together. This is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your dad and enjoy beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
Pre-registered participants may receive a commemorative race number and official race shirt. T-Shirts are short-sleeved and unisex-sized; available in Kid's Small - Adult XXL.
The top three finishers in each age group will receive a necktie. Also, awards will be given to the first father-son and first father-daughter teams to run the race together and cross the finish line together.
Family \ Group Discount
Groups of 4 or more who register online at the same time will receive a $5 discount per registration. A discount will also be given to participants who register early and do not wish to get a t-shirt.
Parking near the start line is very limited. On race day, no parking is available at Rebora Plaza. There are a few spots at the Lakeview public beach (just west of Rebora Plaza) and at the public lot on Dunbar at Lake Front Drive. Additional parking is available at St. Ann's Church, across Highway 12.
Two shuttle buses will pick-up runners at St Ann's Church and the Beverly Shores Administration Building (on Broadway). The vans will take runners directly to the start line. The shuttle vans will run every 3 - 5 minutes starting at 6:30 AM. We advise you arrive early so you are not rushed. After the run, the shuttle vans will return runners to their cars.
Please do NOT park at the Train Station. This parking lot is reserved for riders of the South Shore Line.
Registration is limited to the first 500 people who sign up. So register early!

Race day registration opens at 6:45 AM and closes at 7:40 AM, or until we reach our cap of 500 registrations.
Before the race, join us for the Kid's Sprint. The Sprint will take place at 7:40 AM near the registration tables. It is free! Registration is not require. The Sprint is open to ages 8 and under. All kids who participate win a prize! Group Stretches will follow the Kids Sprint.
Refreshments (including bottled Gatorade, Jannsen's Donuts, and Carol Nordstrom's Famous Cookies) and Live Entertainment will be provided to participants after the run.

The Association of Beverly Shores Residents (ABSR) is a volunteer organization. Our mission is to promote the well being of the community, give voice to the concerns of its residents, and foster community spirit; to keep residents informed on matters of interest and concern to the Town of Beverly Shores and to disseminate information and take appropriate actions pertaining to those issues. The ABSR does this through monthly newsletters, children's activities, community social events, promoting environmental awareness, beautification projects, etc.
