August 10th will mark my 23rd year volunteering as race director for the 47th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff (BBBSF) Dave McKay Memorial Half Marathon and 5K. To celebrate, my Little Brother Zach and I are trying to raise over $5000.00 to help BBBSF mentoring programs.
Zach and I have been matched since January 2021, and during a weekly meetings, we play games, watch football, go to movies (where Zach's rule prohibits us from eating popcorn until the movie starts), play with my cats, go on hikes to our favorite swimming holes, AND every year participate in the BBBSF 5K. Since we have been matched, Zach has lowered his 5K time every year, and now as a 12-year old he hopes to set his personal best on August 10th by breaking 30 minutes!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff greatly relies on the generosity of individuals to support the organization’s annual operating budget. Gifts from caring people like you make it possible for our staff to recruit volunteer Big Brothers and Big Sisters and provide them with one-to-one expert advice and support. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff also offers a wide variety of activities—social, educational, entertainment, vocational and more—for our “Bigs” and “Littles.” It costs our agency $1,800 to make and support a match for one year, so any donations are greatly appreciated. So please help Zach and I reach our goals for the organization that we hold so close to our hearts. Thanks for your consideration!
