For the past 25 years, I have been on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff board of directors, a volunteer big brother, and have voluntarily directed the Dave McKay Memorial Half Marathon and 5K! After I retired from my job as a Forest Service archaeologist in 2020, Zach and I began our match when he was nine years old. One of our favorite activities every year has been the 5K race. Zach has lowered his personal best time every year! Zach attends the Pine Forest Charter School and is an aspiring football player. After attending Coconino High School, he hopes to get a scholarship to play for the University of Arizona.
