Our 32 year-old son died three years ago this May. He was an organ donor; his heart beats in a woman who now can be in her grandson's life - we were blessed to meet her a year ago, and hear our son's heartbeat. His liver and kidneys provide new life for recipients (unknown to us). As parents of a child who died, knowing his life lives in others, helping them to live, is a gift beyond measure. We love you, Phil. May your soul be settled and always wrapped in the arms of God. We miss you, and thank you dearly for giving the gift of life to others.
In honor of Phil and recognition of all families with their own transplant stories, please join me by considering a pledge for patients awaiting or recovering from organ transplant surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital. Money raised provides individuals and their families who come to Strong Memorial in Rochester for heart, liver, kidney and pancreas transplants much needed supplemental financial assistance while they await and recover from surgery. Your donation truly makes a difference. Thank you for your support - and to my dear friends Dee and Judy for walking with me on this journey.
