My connection with lupus was my Father BKA Paco. He was diagnosis with Lupus in 1978.  It took him 2 years for a correct diagnosis. Funny story my dad took one of us girls (he had 4 daughters) to the pediatrician and after talking to the doctor, he told him Mike, I think you have Lupus go see my brother-in-law at North Western Hospital in Chicago and the rest was history. 

My Father was my Hero. I am the youngest and I would help him out with as much as possible. The Man was a Double Amputee and both hands having swan neck deformity from Lupus. He also had other problems but they never stopped him from driving around all over towns in his favorite hunter green truck. 

I first became involved with the Lupus Walks in 2007. I found the walk in Naperville, IL. on the internet. This is the birth of PACO’S POSSE. Did the same walk in 2008 too.  After that it came out to Olympia Field, IL. in 2009. My Mom and DAD lived in Olympia Fields, so I had to become a SOUTHSIDE Lupus Walk Committee Member and I Did! Me, my Father, Family and Friends have been doing it ever since. Unfortunately, in 2017 my Father, Mike AKA Paco passed away but Paco's Posse Lives ON in Memory of Him.  With that said if you could help and Paco's Posse reach the goal set in Honorable Memory of Mike Rangel!
