I’ve held out hope, but Run S’more isn’t going to happen this year. It is extremely unlikely we would get a permit, but, equally important, the experience would be completely different.
Run S’more is about being with friends, pushing your limits, and running with others. All of that is on the naughty list right now. I don’t want to hold Run S’more just to hold Run S’more and I don't want to water it down. I want it to be a kickass event where everyone leaves with great memories. Doing it under the current restrictions would be lame.
No “in the interest” or “in association with the CDC” nonsense. If you are going to pay a lot of money for an event, the event should exceed expectations and I can’t create that event in 2020. Oh, there is also that no permit thing.
We have moved our Lapham Peak Trail Races to the Run S’more date. For those running solo and looking for a longer distance, I’m working on a 50K and 50-mile option for this race. See, it isn’t all bad news. Give me a couple weeks to confirm the distances.
Your Run S'more registration will be automatically deferred to next year - June 19/20, 2021.
