I got into this on a whim in 2019 when a family friend said, “You’re a runner. Want to ruck?”  “I run 5ks,” I replied. After coffee with some persuasive team members, I was in.  Going through a divorce, I thought, “This will be a good goal.” I had no idea how transformative the Ruck would be. 
     Along the way, I learned the story of Eric Jones, the man for whom this organization was started, and the stories of several other veterans. By the time I reached the finish line, I was hooked. Hearing what our service members, veterans, and families go through, I knew I needed to help in some way. 
     I’ve watched this organization grow over the past 8 years, offering programs such as couples and family outings and retreats, matching service dogs with veterans, and providing assistance to families in need while a member is serving over seas.
