Thank you for visiting my ICA fundraising page!
I am breaking the silence on IC/BPS and am counting on you for your support. I'm looking for a minimum of 20 friends who are willing to forego a Starbuck's and give $10! Can YOU do that this week?
The ICA is the only non-profit charitable organization dedicated solely to improving the quality of healthcare and lives of people living with IC/BPS.
I've suffered with IC/BPS ( to give you an idea.....feels like day 1 of a really bad UTI urinary tract infection... YEAH!! that bad!!) .....EVERY. SINGLE. DAY for the past 17 years!
But this IS NOT about ME...... It's about the millions of young men and women who get diagnosed every year.... and their journey is just starting. They NEED your help!!
I've been caffeine free for about 16 years..... so I'm asking that you skip one trip to Starbuck's or wherever you go for coffee & treat.... and instead take that $10 and give it to the ICA (hello?! tax deductible) Of course, I'd love to have you give much more!
I know you see me "look fine" and accomplish goals and serve others, but you don't see all the medications, treatments, and surgeries that it takes to just manage my illness and show up for my life. Some days, I can't: I'm stuck in bed....many other days I CAN show up..... and it is a DIRECT reflection of my uro-gyncologist and the direct information, research and advocacy of the ICA the past 30 years.
Without the ICA, and their efforts, there is ZERO chance that I would be functional at all. This is why I'm so passionate about supporting the ICA: with my time, advocacy and now serving on the Board of Directors.
This spring, I am participating in the ICA's first-ever Spring into Summer Self-Care Adventure to support the important work of the ICA: The Interstitial Cystitis Association. Today, I am asking for your help.
IC/BPS is a chronic pain disease that is not well known by the public or even healthcare practitioners, yet more than 12 million Americans suffer from it. The primary symptom of IC/BPS is excruciating bladder pain, and secondary symptoms include urinary urgency and frequency. Many patients suffer for years without a diagnosis and miss the opportunity to make important lifestyle changes that provide relief.
The reason I support the ICA is simple. The ICA advocates for IC/BPS research on Capitol Hill, raises awareness for the condition, and serves as a central hub for the healthcare providers, researchers and millions of patients who suffer with constant urinary urgency and frequency and extreme bladder pain called IC/BPS, or interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome. When you support me with a donation, you’re helping an organization that is very important to me.
I hope you'll join me in the fight against IC/BPS, by making a donation to help me reach my goal. No gift is too big or too small!
The Interstitial Cystitis Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit corporation with federal EIN# 13-3292137. Contributions are tax-deductible as described by law.
Thank you for your support,
Tacha Kasper, LMFT
