Welcome to my Team page for the 31st annual Lauren’s Run & Picnic!
Eleven years ago Team Jared Forman was formed shortly after the unexpected and sudden death of Jared Forman. Jared was only 7 years when he died from Glioblastoma Multiforme.
Jared Forman was a bright and joyful 7-year-old boy, full of dreams and laughter. As a first grader, he was already known for his quick wit, boundless energy, and a heart full of love. He had big plans for the future: Jared wanted to be a professional football player, and had plans of playing for UGA. But when he wasn't on the field, he could be found strumming his guitar, imagining himself as a rock star, captivating the world with his music.
It was the week of Passover when everything changed. Jared had been with his 10-year-old brother, Joshua, and their father at synagogue. At some point Jared laid down on the couch in the lobby to rest. He never woke up.
When we arrived at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we were met with devastating news: Jared had Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive and malignant brain tumor that had burst without warning. A vibrant, healthy boy one moment, and then gone far too soon. Our family was left in shock, grappling with the loss of a child full of promise and potential. Jared died April 18, 2014.
Today, Jared would be 18yo and getting ready to graduate from high school. Jared’s memory lives on in the laughter he brought to every room, the love he shared with his family, and the dreams he never had the chance to fulfill. We ask for your support in honoring his spirit, keeping his dreams alive, and helping raise awareness for childhood cancer. Every donation brings us closer to a future where children like Jared can be spared from this heartbreaking disease.
Jared may have left us too soon, but his light continues to shine in the hearts of those who loved him. Please help us keep his memory alive.
Please consider joining and/or donating to Team Jared Forman. With your help we hope to prevent other families from experiencing the horrific nightmare of having a child die from cancer.
