This February, I’ll be putting on my winter running shoes—and maybe a headlamp or two—to take on my first-ever 24-hour race: the Grandeur Peak 24-hour challenge, part of the Running Up For Air (RUFA) series. Set in the snow-covered Wasatch Mountains, this race is quite literally an uphill battle, fought one step at a time. In many ways, the fight for meaningful climate action feels just like that—progress often comes in small, consistent efforts, even when the climb ahead seems daunting.
While policymakers debate and delay, air pollution continues to harm millions of lives daily. This isn’t the time to wait—it’s the time to act. That’s where RUFA comes in. They amplify every dollar to support groups fighting air pollution, turning donations into cleaner, healthier futures for all.
Friends, family, and everyone who cares about our planet: we need you in this fight. Whether you donate, share this message, or simply start conversations about climate change, every action matters. Together, we can help Grandeur hit $150,000 and the RUFA series reach $300,000 by May 1, 2025.
This race is also a personal milestone—it falls on my grandad’s birthday, and I can’t think of a better way to honor him than by working toward a healthier, cleaner world for future generations.
