CLUB RUN STATEMENT DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC:
The board of Bluegrass Runners is continuing to monitor the evolving situation with COVID-19 as well as guidance from the city and state. Both Lexington and Kentucky have begun reopening processes with many of the same overall goals and protections in place, though there are policy variations that would affect even small recreational outdoor gatherings (e.g., 10 people or less).
All sanctioned Bluegrass Runners activities remain suspended or virtual at this time, but we are making plans that will accommodate limited group activities when permitted by and in accordance with local guidelines and regulations. Those plans include the following points, which are all subject to change.
At this time we are not holding sanctioned group runs until at least TBD at October BGR Board meeting. We strongly recommend those who choose to participate in non-sanctioned group runs follow the above guidelines, and that group sizes be limited to 10 or less. Please remain mindful of individual risk tolerances and respect that the willingness to participate in even small group activities is personal. The safety of our members remains our top concern. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any comments, concerns, or questions.
Running together is a great way to meet other runners while getting your miles in. We have plenty of club members out and about every week. Even if you’re not a club member, you’re welcome to join those BGRs when they are running. We run at a variety of paces, and walkers are welcome. You can also find a running buddy and stay up to date on run time/location changes by joining our Facebook group.
