CLUB RUN STATEMENT REGARDING COVID 19 AND GROUP RUNS:

The following guidelines are current as of August 22, 2022 for participants. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these guidelines are subject to change as guidelines are updated by the CDC. For current CDC guidelines, please review the recommendations for Fayette County here:https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html

In addition to following CDC recommendations, we have added the following guidelines below:

  • Participants should be Bluegrass Runners members. We are unable to provide electronic waivers at this time for non-members, and it is recommended we have a waiver for non-members by RRCA.
  • Participants should be fully clear of the running path before spitting or blowing their nose (see also guidelines below regarding symptoms).
  • Per CDC guidelines, no participant should take part in a group run if they are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
  • Additionally, no one should participate in a group run if any of the following apply: Asked to quarantine by the health department; non-vaccinated AND exposed within the last 10 days to someone who is Covid positive; Waiting on Covid 19 test results
  • To eliminate common touch points, the Club may suspend mid-run and post-run beverages for all group runs until further notice. Personal hydration and fuel are the recommended options. If the Club provides hydration or food, please use hand sanitizer prior to touching common surfaces such as container handles, etc.

Running together is a great way to meet other runners while getting your miles in. We have plenty of club members out and about every week. Even if you’re not a club member, you’re welcome to join those BGRs when they are running. We run at a variety of paces, and walkers are welcome. You can also find a running buddy and stay up to date on run time/location changes by joining our Facebook group.
