Over Fifty Years Running!
Bluegrass Runners is a non-profit organization based in Lexington, KY, devoted to promoting fitness, fellowship, and fun for runners of all ages and abilities since 1972. Every Thanksgiving, we put on the Thoroughbred Classic 5K and Kay Collins Memorial Mile. Through the 35+ years of hosting this race, BGR has raised and donated over $497,000 to local charities.
Bluegrass Runners also co-hosts (with www.ironcology.org) the Survive the Night Relays during the summer, featuring a relay marathon, ultramarathon, and 140+ mile relay triathlon.
You can connect with other runners and walkers through club runs and social events. We also offer race registration discounts and prizes through our Grand Prix Series.
We are an affiliated club with Road Runners Club of America (www.rrca.org) and USA Track and Field's Kentucky Association (https://kentucky.usatf.org/)
