Shape the Future of LARC: Join

Image

LARC is more than just a running club-it's a community built by the passion and dedication of its members. As we look ahead to an incredible 2026-2027 season, we are looking for fresh energy and perspectives to join the LARC Board of Directors.

If you've ever wanted to go "behind the scenes" and help steer the direction of the best community in LA, now is your chance! Specifically, we are seeking a new Vice-President to step into a core leadership role, support the club's big-picture goals, and help guide our future.

We are also currently looking for volunteers to assist with:

The Newsletter: Help us share stories, race results, and training tips (like the Mt. Baldy challenge below!) to keep our members inspired and informed.

Social Activities: Do you love a good post-run brunch or a celebratory potluck? Help us brainstorm and execute the social events that make our club feel like a family!

Saturday Morning Tent Duty: Be the welcoming face of LARC! Assist with setup, greeting new runners, keeping the stoke high at our weekend home base, and handing out season shirts to our members.

Being on the Board is a fantastic way to give back to the sport we love and ensure that LARC continues to thrive for years to come. Whether you're a long-time member or a newer face with great ideas, we want to hear from you.

Interested in the VP position or helping out in another way? Please reach out to us at info@larunningclub.com for more information on how to get involved.

TRACK IS BACK!

Image

WEDNESDAY - April 1 2026 at 7:00 p.m.

WORKOUT:

We are thrilled to be back to our regularly scheduled track sessions with all four of our signature groups hitting the pavement together. Whether you are looking to push your limits with Track Heavy, Track MiddleTrack Light, and Walkers, there is a place for you in the lane. We’ve missed the energy of the full group, and we can’t wait to see everyone back out there!

A few quick logistical notes:

  • Capacity is strictly capped at 50 people. Santa Monica High School Track Etiquette:

  • The Golden Rule: Please do not enter the track before 7:00 PM. SAMO is extremely strict regarding permit times. Stepping onto the track early puts our entire season at risk, so let's hang back until our official start time!

Press Release

Dr. Suzuki
Dr. Kazu Suzuki has been appointed as a medical advisor to our running club.

For our members, he will be providing the first aid, such as treatment of minor cuts and scrapes, minor allergic reaction and ankle sprains etc. He is an experienced foot and ankle surgeon, and he can advise you on running related questions and injuries as needed. He is an active member of the club and he will be present at Saturday Totem-pole meetings and Wednesday track nights on most days.

Most importantly, he will have an EKG device and an AED device which is a heart defibrillator device that can be life-saving when a person has a cardiac arrest and collapses. Although it’s rare, cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, including a seemingly healthy runner. You may have heard a 29-year-old Danish professional soccer player (Christian Eriksen) collapsed during a Euro tournament match in June 2021. Fortunately, Eriksen was resuscitated with AED, sent to a hospital for a pace maker and survived, solely because he had an immediate medical attention.

Kazu is a native of Tokyo Japan. He is a Boston marathon qualifier/finisher and an Ironman finisher. He is an attending staff of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center since 2006 & has a private practice clinic in West Hollywood. He also welcomes your running or health-related questions via email (Kazu.Suzuki@cshs.org), which may be featured in our weekly emails and in our website.
