McClellan Bike Trails - MTB Trails

The McClellan Bike Trail consists of 10 miles of purpose built singletrack and is perfect for beginner riders of all ages.  It is the first specifically designed NICA trail in the state of Alabama.  The system has a great variety of green and blue trail segments.  Trail names capture the history of the military base, community figures and local heros.  Among the segments:  Reveille, Retreat, WAC, and 2-Star Betty, named after Major General Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Clarke. MG Clarke was the first 2-Star General in the U.S. Army and last director of the Women's Army Corp (WAC).  Equally fun in either direction, the trails twist, turn and roll around Sunset Hill and along the base of the Baltzell Mountains.

The trails are located on a former Army installation.  While it is highly unlikely, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) may be located on the site.  Please stay on designated trails and do not ride in undesignated areas.  If you do find anything that might be UXO, call 9-1-1.
