I am participating in the Survivors Lead Virtual Challenge because I believe that when survivors lead, we can help prevent human trafficking.
As someone who identifies as a survivor, I always told myself, "My pain won't go in vain." This mantra kept me going even in the darkest of times. Now that I have overcome, I want to speak up against this act of violence towards human beings. Victims who remain silenced and survivors struggling to feel a sense of hope need our support. There are so many ways we can support them... through education/prevention, financial support and service/volunteer work. Please help support however you can, it doesn't require a lot to be a beacon of hope. Together we can light the way.
Human trafficking is much more prevalent is in our modern day society. Often times we miss the signs or aren't aware of what these signs are but we can work together by educating ourselves and the people around us. Monetary donations no matter the amount are always celebrated. This helps contribute towards simple items we can take for granted... undergarments, a shirt, pants, shoes, deodorant, etc. Donations can also help towards larger expenses such as housing and legal fees. Nevertheless, donors are an asset to the cause.
