About The Coalition

We believe survivor leadership is necessary to end human trafficking.

Our Coalition has been survivor led since our founding in 2014 and throughout we have been guided by survivor leaders both within the Monterey Bay area and across the country.

Our Coalition is a collaboration of organizations, businesses, and individuals. We are striving to eradicate human trafficking in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties.
Survivor leadership directs the work towards freedom and equity through education, advocacy, and direct services. Ending human trafficking requires embracing the complexity of survivors’ different identities and experiences as core to our work.

Over the years we have seen a sea change in our community. Attitudes and laws have changed. Organizations and agencies have equipped themselves to meet the needs of survivors. And the Coalition has been there. Here are some examples of our accomplishments:

  • Offered two annual regional conferences on human trafficking, in Santa Cruz and Watsonville
  • Presented three annual webinar series including our current series, Free and Whole: Meeting the Needs of Every Survivor which includes four free webinars offered from January to April 2022
  • Brought over 29 Survivor Leaders to our community to speak at Coalition Events
  • Conducted over 90 Monthly Collaborative Meetings with over 100 local organizations, agencies, survivors and stakeholders
  • Distributed Awareness Poster Series to every middle school and high school in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties

Thank you for supporting our Coalition and helping to end human trafficking in the Monterey Bay Area, across the country and around the world.
