FAQ
WHAT IS GLOBAL RUNNING DAY?
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. Global Running Day was formerly known as National Running Day and began in the United States. The first event was in 2009. The inaugural Global Running Day was held on June 1, 2016. More than 2.5 million people from 177 countries pledged to run more than 9.2 million miles.
WHAT CHARITY DOES THE 12-HOUR RUN BENEFIT?
The race benefits RunningWorks, a grassroots nonprofit that believes in health, community and opportunity and provides wellness initiatives, life skill development, social support and case management to promote positive lifestyle habits.
Individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty are more likely to have health disparities and negative health outcomes, so RunningWorks has created a unique model of using sport, education and social support to assist Team Members (a.k.a. program participants) with their Health and Mental Wellness, with developing a Community of Support, and building bridges to increase Access and Opportunity.
For more information, visit www.RunningWorks.org or connect with RunningWorks on Facebook and Instagram.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN?

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's not about how fast you run, it's about how far you run.
Starting at 8 am on June 7, you can run or walk a distance that is comfortable for you. We understand that many of our participants have different fitness levels, so we do not require a specific distance for our run! Once you have completed your run, you can record your information on our Results page. If you decide to run or walk again later in the day, you can log your information again on the same Results page and your distances will be added together!
Remember: the run ends at 8 pm, so make sure you keep your total mileage updated on our Results page!
WHEN IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?
Registration will be open through June 7-- Global Running Day-- until the end of the race at 8 pm!
