Why I support the American Cancer Society:

Cancer has taken too many of my friends and family members. My father, John Nelson Jr. succumbed to lung cancer in 1987 after too short of a battle.  My mother, Anne Nelson suffered from cardio-pulmonary disease from second hand smoke.  My brother Mike fought and beat cancer at 19 years of age.

My best friend from high school Kent Christensen passed away from pancreatic cancer leaving a wonderful family.

One of my greatest childhood mentors, George McCullough fought cancer and was brought down by the treatment.

My greatest business mentor in life, Cal McLoy fought cancer and succumbed to pneumonia after chemo and passed in 2025.

I have had many clients, friends and family fight and continue to fight!

That's why I climb!
