Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP) serves 7,000 individuals annually in Cayuga and Seneca Counties through over 40 programs designed to alleviate hunger and homelessness, help domestic violence victims, prepare individuals for the workforce, provide early childhood development, improve health outcomes, strengthen families and mitigate crisis.
The Seneca Programs Women's Transitional House is a nine-bed shelter to promote self-sufficiency and empowers single, homeless women to sustain safe, stable permanent housing through hope, healing and lifechanging transformation. The "House" provides a supportive environment for up to 24 months with a host of holistic, individualized wrap-around supports to assist participants in enabling meaningful growth including case management, financial literacy, credit repair, job assistance, employment skills, housing advocacy and temporary financial assistance.
