New Date: 07/17/2021
Right to Run 19k, Inc. has made the difficult decision to reschedule the Right to Run 19k & 5k to July 17, 2021 during Convention Days Weekend. This decision did not come easily for us but we believe it is in the best interest of our runners, volunteers and community. We value nothing more than the health and safety of everyone involved in the race. This news is especially disappointing considering 2020 is the centennial of women’s right to vote – which we have been gearing up for since day one.
We’ll get right to it. We have three options for people who have already registered.
-Complimentary rollover of registration to the 2021 race
-A refund
-Donation of your registration fee to Seneca County House of Concern, our local food pantry.
If you already registered for the race, be sure to check your email as you should have received an email from us. This email includes information on next steps, including how to get a refund or defer your 2020 registration to 2021.
We included a donation to Seneca County House of Concern as an option because they are struggling to keep people in our community fed during this nationwide pandemic. Their need is immense and we thought we could make some good of this bad situation by helping out those most in need.
We ask that you select an option by June 4, 2020. By not selecting an option by June 4th you will automatically be enrolled in the 2021 race and the regular refund policy will be back in place effective June 5, 2020. If you have any issues with refunds please email us at righttorun@outlook.com. We will do our best to respond promptly.
We thank you all for your understanding. This year was our year to celebrate 100 years of women’s suffrage and the decision to reschedule to 2021 did not come easily. Although, we won’t be able to hold the 19k or 5k this year we hope that you still take time to celebrate this milestone anniversary in your own unique way!
2020 is finally here! This year marks the 100th anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote! It all started back in Seneca Falls, NY, when Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott held the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention – the first-ever Women’s Rights Convention.
To some, the 19K may seem like a random number, but the 19k serves as a powerful reminder of the long, difficult journey women traveled to obtain their right to vote. Crossing the finish line takes dedication, resilience and strength, all qualities shared with the suffragists that fought for women’s suffrage.
Men, women and children of all ages are welcome to join us for the Right to Run 19K & 5K, which will take place during Convention Days in beautiful Seneca Falls, New York. Convention Days is a three-day event that commemorates the United States' first women's rights convention that was held in Seneca Falls in 1848. On the second day of the convention, 68 women and 32 men signed the Declaration of Sentiments, which was the cornerstone of the women's equality movement. Join us as we celebrate the women before us and venture the road ahead!
Women’s Right to Run 19K, Inc.’s purpose is to inspire, empower, mobilize and connect women. The 19K distance is a nod to the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

Both the 19K &5K USATF-Certified courses are relatively flat. Each race will begin and finish at the same location, which will be on the historic "Bailey Bridge" located near the Seneca Falls Recreation Center (packet pick-up location) and the Seneca Knitting Mill (the future home of the Women's Hall of Fame). The 19K race will begin at 7:00am and the 5K race will begin at 7:15am.
The races continue south and east through the Town of Seneca Falls. When the races intersect with Stevenson Street, the 5K will turn left and the 19K will turn right, heading out of town on Garden Street Extension.
The 19K will continue south until it eventually turns east towards the lake on Airport Road. After a few scenic miles in the country, runners will continue along the lake until they reach the path that takes them through to the New York Chiropractor College campus. This year, the course will continue around the campus and then runners will head towards downtown Seneca Falls on Bayard Street.
Both the 19K & 5K will run their final loop past the Elizabeth Cady Stanton house. Runners will be greeted and cheered on by participants of the Women's Suffrage Procession and the Living History Presentations being held at the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House.
During the 19k participants will run by:
• The Elizabeth Cady Stanton House
• The Seneca Knitting Mill and the new home of the National Women’s Hall of Fame
• Amelia Bloomer’s House (Private Residence)
• The When Anthony Met Stanton Statue
• The Cayuga Lake State Park
• The New York Chiropractor College, 1 of 16 chiropractor colleges in the nation!
• New York State Barge Canal
• Follow the steps at the finish line up to where the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention was held and also see the Women’s Rights National Historical Park!
There will be Port-o-potties available on the courses. Each course will also have multiple water stops with energetic volunteers ready to lift your spirits with hydration and smiles. The 19K will have water stops approximately every 2 miles, extra electrolyte stations, and additional emergency staff.
Race timing will be provided by YellowJacket Racing. Runner and course safety will be provided in cooperation with the Seneca Falls Police Department, NY State Park Police, NY State Troopers, Seneca County Sheriffs Department, YellowJacket Racing , and local volunteers.
Disclaimer: The final USATF certified courses may have Start and Finish lines that vary slightly from the maps.
