Right to Run 19K & 5K
Seneca Falls, NY

July 18, 2020

19K 8:00am, 5K 8:15am

Join us as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment!

Men, women and children of all ages are welcome to join us for the Right to Run 19K & 5K, which will take place during Convention Days in beautiful Seneca Falls, New York. Convention Days is a three-day event that commemorates the United States' first women's rights convention that was held in Seneca Falls in 1848. On the second day of the convention, 68 women and 32 men signed the Declaration of Sentiments, which was the cornerstone of the women's equality movement. Join us as we celebrate the women before us and venture the road ahead!

Women’s Right to Run 19K, Inc.’s purpose is to inspire, empower, mobilize and connect women. The 19K distance is a nod to the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. With our mission being to inspire, empower, mobilize, and connect women, we're honored to benefit Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes. An organization that focuses on helping victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse and interpersonal violence. Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes helps people by creating an environment where all people feel safe, secure, empowered, and confident, and your participation will help propel their initiatives forward!

19K & 5K Course Information

Both the 19K &5K USATF-Certified courses are relatively flat. Each race will begin and finish at the same location, which will be on the historic "Bailey Bridge" located near the Seneca Falls Recreation Center (packet pick-up location) and the Seneca Knitting Mill (the future home of the Women's Hall of Fame). The 19K race will begin at 8:00am and the 5K race will begin at 8:15am.

The races continue south and east through the Town of Seneca Falls. When the races intersect with Stevenson Street, the 5K will turn left and the 19K will turn right, heading out of town on Garden Street Extension.

The 19K will continue south until it eventually turns east towards the lake on Airport Road. After a few scenic miles in the country, runners will continue along the lake until they reach the path that takes them through the tunnel on to the NYCC campus. This year, the course will continue around the campus and then runners will head towards downtown Seneca Falls on Bayard Street.

Both the 19K & 5K will run their final loop past the Elizabeth Cady Stanton house. Runners will be greeted and cheered on by participants of the Women's Suffrage Procession and the Living History Presentations being held at the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House.

There will be Port-o-loos available on the courses. Each course will also have multiple water stops with energetic volunteers ready to lift your spirits with hydration and smiles. The 19K will have water stops approximately every 2 miles, extra electrolyte stations, and additional emergency staff.  **NOTE: The race organizers are working to secure cooling/misting stations for runners.**

Race timing will be provided by YellowJacket Racing. Runner and course safety will be provided in cooperation with the Seneca Falls Police Department, NY State Park Police, NY State Troopers, Seneca County Sheriffs Department, YellowJacket Racing , and local volunteers.

Disclaimer: The final USATF certified courses may have Start and Finish lines that vary slightly from the above pictured maps.

The 19K race map currently reflects the route of the 2019 race - the race map will be updated soon for the 2020 race!
